The Montour House still graces Main Street in Montour Falls, NY. Built in the early 1850s by Charles Cook, the Montour House served as a hotel and office space. It also served as the residence for Charles Cook.

Charles Cook hoped to make Montour Falls (Havana) the county seat for the newly formed Schuyler County in 1855. He built this structure to serve as the county court house. Cook was foiled in his efforts by others who promoted Watkins Glen as the county seat. Today, this building serves as the Village Hall for Montour Falls.

The canal receipts from the toll collector's office in Montour Falls (Havana) had to be kept in a bank, so Charles Cook formed the Bank of Havana. In 1863, he built this structure to house the Bank of Havana. Today it is the Montour Falls Memorial Library.

Lock #2 on the Chemung Canal was located in Montour Falls (Havana) near the present day B.C. Cate Elementary School on Canal Street (the canal was filled in within the village after the canal closed). This is the lockkeeper's house that served lock #2 during the days of the Chemung Canal.
