This photograph of Havana, now known as Montour Falls, was taken during the Civil War. The bridge crossing the Chemung Canal can be seen in the foreground. The three men gathered beyond the bridge and to the left are reading recent war news in the newspaper. Behind them is the Montour House. In the right background, the buildings that today house the Montour Falls Memorial Library and the Village Hall are visible. The Village Hall is the building with the white cupola on top. All three brick buildings still stand in Montour Falls.
